Before we get into the how's and when's and what's, it should be stated that technically speaking, Itzy had the parental permission to marry Dana way before the relationship even started.  You see, back in the Block Party of 2010 (?), Dana looked Itzy right in the eyes and told her she was BEAUTIFUL while nightswimming with the rest of their friends.  And she did so in such a way that Itzy got all blushy and shy because she had never gotten such a nice and genuine complement from anyone before, much less someone like Dana.  When Itzy went inside after Dana's comment, she saw Elly and David in their kitchen and asked them "How would you feel if I married your daughter?"  The response was very positive and although Itzy had no idea this would actually happen one day, it made the more serious question of "May I marry your daughter?" so much easier and more comfortable.

Moving on to the real proposal.  In the first couple of months of their dating, Itzy and Dana went on a double date with Andrea and Tony Coston to an abondoned cement factory.  Very cool place, lots of fun graffiti and as it turns out lots of amazing crystals!!  So, two years into dating, Itzy decided it was time to pop the question and wanted to make it special.  She asked Andrea and Tony to help with the proposal.  The mighty plan was to have Andrea and Tony come up for a visit, go back to the cement factory and go digging for more crystals.  Obviously, Dana had no idea that this would be the setting for a really romantic proposal.  Andrea and Tony were not only there to witness but also be our photographers.

About half an hour into being at the factory, Itzy asked Dana and the gang if they wanted to go digging for crystals.  To get to these crystals, you have to climb some procarious hills of rocks and dirt.  While Itzy and Dana started climbing, Andrea and Tony stayed back.  Clearly they needed to get ready to take pictures..

So, at the top of the hill they had just climbed, Itzy said to Dana "Dana, there's something I need to talk to you about."  Dana, completely distracted and mesmorized by all of the crystals surrounding them, quickly replied "Uh huh" without really paying attention.  Itzy then tried to make eye contact.  Dana was looking down at the crystals.  Itzy repeated "Dana, there's something important that I need to talk to you about."  Dana responds "Uh huh", barely looking at Itzy.  Finally, Itzy grabs Dana by the collar of her coat and practically yells "DANA, stop looking at the crystals and look at me!"  That caught her attention.  Itzy says some sweet nothings and proceeds to get down on one knee.  Dana screams with excitement and the rest is history.
