     Melissa and I first met in the mist of the pandemic. Where Melissa was just starting work at a new location, coisncedentally I was also on duty protecting that same location. Our paths crossed frequently, each interaction marked by a shared sense of humor, uncertainty and the weight of the worlds issues. As we exchanged cautious smiles and brief conversations, a bond began to form, rooted in our mutual dedication to our family and friends. The challenges of the pandemic created a unique backdrop for our growing friendship, as we found a sense of peace in each other's company.

     Little did we know, this connection would evolve into something far deeper then we had ever expected, as we navigate the trials of that unprecedented time together. Despite my reserved nature and handsome look, Melissa’s curiosity and persistence paid off. One day Melissa built the courage to ask for my number. (Actually my birthday day  had just past and Mel told a coworker that she had a present for Day)….. the curiosity was killing me so I asked her what it was! Melissa smiling from ear to ear said in a playful manner! Me… I’m you birthday present.

     I had been contemplating asking for Mel’s number for weeks, rehearsing my words in front of the mirror. As I approached her, my heart raced, but I reminded himself of the possibilities that lay ahead. As I glanced down on that beautiful face with a smile, I finally spoke, and to my delight, she grinned back and handed me her phone( I looked at her and said OMG you have a android! We can’t be friends) sike.

     In that instant, I felt a rush of excitement, knowing this was just the beginning of something new and exciting. After she blew my phone up day and night I was like geesh! lol no but after hundreds of text, hours on the phone and countless dates. She discovered that beneath my quiet string exterior lay a wealth of stories waiting to be shared. As we spent more time together, Melissa began to open up, revealing her passions and dreams. Each conversation deepened our connection, transforming our initial intrigue into a blossoming friendship. Eventually, I realized that I had not only unraveled the mystery of Melissa but had also found a kindred spirit in her.

     In the past 4 years since then, our time together has been an amazing adventure, full of laughter, love, and unforgettable moments. We’ve traveled whenever possible, welcoming each other's children, and recently became engaged in Cancun with the love and support of our children. We are so excited to begin this next chapter, envisioning a future filled with shared dreams and new experiences. Planning our wedding has brought us even closer, as we  collaborate on every detail to make it a true reflection of our love. With each passing day, we find joy in the little things, cherishing the bond we have built together. As we look ahead, we are filled with hope and anticipation for the life we will create as a blended family.
