He asked me on our Western Caribbean Cruise on November 1, 2016. We went out to a nice dinner, and right before dessert he got down on one knee and asked me for my hand in marriage. Before I could respond with "YES" the couple having dinner beside us squealed in excitement. This will forever be memorable for us, and it sure was a surprise for me!

I remember calling her mother for permission to have her daughters hand in marriage and how excited she was and telling me " it is about time". 

During our cruise each day I would sneak off and post little tid-bits and pictures to Facebook about my upcoming intentions to ask her for her hand in marriage. 

For the big night, I asked our porter to decorate our room with balloons, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne.
