Bride

Rhasheed and I met while we were working at South Oaks Hospital. I was a counselor on the adolescence unit and he was a technical specialist in the prevention department. I was walking from the gym and I saw this guy trying to get in the doors. I was apprenhensive at first to let him in because I thought he was a patient. As soon as I unlocked the door, he introduced himself and shook my hand. At the time, I was not interested in dating anyone, due to me just getting out of a bad relationship. He gave me his business card and told me to call him some time. I walked away and threw his card down in my bag. After a few days, a friend of mine encouraged me to call him. After much contemplation, I called him, but I made sure I blocked my number, just in case I was not interested. We talked for hours and I felt as though I knew him forever. For our first date we went to Ruby Tuesday's for dinner. After dinner, I took him to Oheka Castle, yes a real castle, to walk around. We talked and that is where we had our first kiss, under the stars, standing in front of the water fountains at the castle. Our connection from that day, July 23, 2009, led us to this day of marriage.

Groom

You never know when you are going to meet the love of your life, let alone your soul mate. Nothing can prepare you to love someone to the magnitude of even considering marriage. First time I ever saw Alicia was in the cafeteria at South Oaks Hospital, where we both worked. She did not even look my way, and she had a slightly melancholy look on her face, and quickly exited the cafeteria before I had a chance to engage. Her natural beauty was undeniable. I told myself that I needed to find out who this girl was. A few weeks later I went to the gym at our job to sign up for the gym membership, not like I was really going to go to the gym. Lol. As I walked through the doors to the gym, I got locked in. I said to myself "great, now I'm locked in this crazy hospital". After a few moments of trying to get in the door, I looked up and who do I see, the pretty face girl that I had seen in the cafeteria a few weeks prior. She opened the door for me and I said, "oh, this is where you work, I've been looking for you". She replied and said, "you were looking for me"? She looked at me with reluctance, not sure if I was staff or a patient. I put my hand out to shake her hand and told her my name. I asked her name, and she said "Alicia Delgado-Agudio", but I only caught the first name. I told her I thought she was beautiful and that I would like to take her out some time. I handed her my card, which she seemed hesitant to take, and told her to give me a call some time. After a few days, she finally called me...... Now here we are, nine years later, a family, and about to be husband and wife.
