We had talked about "when we're married" but we had never talked about actually getting married. So it was a complete surprise when he DID propose. We were away on a little "getaway", hiking in the woods. We stopped for a picnic near this giant tree that had a beautiful view. The fog was just clearing. As he unloaded the picnic goodies from his backpack, the ring box fell out and landed right at my feet! It was quite how he had planned it but it was still very sweet and romantic. He immediately dropped to his knee, picked up the box and asked me to marry him!
